Out of all the services we provide here at Mountain View Pediatric Dentistry, our best service for cavity prevention is sealants.
Tooth Decay Prevention
Sealants
Our back teeth have multiple pits and grooves on the biting surfaces. A sealant is a protective layer we paint into the pits and grooves on those teeth. Once sealants are placed, food and bacteria can’t settle in those vulnerable pits and grooves. When food and bacteria can’t get in, cavities are much less likely to occur.
A sealant is generally used on permanent teeth in the back of the mouth. If a child is showing they may be at higher risk for cavities, we may recommend a sealant on baby molars as well. Sealants are an easy and painless procedure.
Call us today to get an appointment scheduled so we can help get your child on the road to cavity prevention. A sealant will save your child from pain and discomfort in the future as well as making dental visits more affordable.
